NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - January 18, 2011) - Information Builders, Inc. an independent leader in business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced it will provide iWay Software enterprise integration solutions, premium maintenance support, professional and technical services, and education to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Repositories Program. The support comes under a new contract awarded to its federal sales partner immixGroup, Inc., a leading provider of technology products and services to the public sector. Worth up to $3.6 million, the contract includes one base year and one 12-month option period.
The VA Repositories Program provides access to nationalized administrative and clinical data for a variety of products within the VA internal information technology infrastructure. The VA was looking for a data integration solution to provide Repositories Program clients and applications with better service and enhanced data access capabilities, including location transparency, data federation, concurrent query execution across distributed VA health systems, as well as portability and scalability.
"The iWay Enterprise Information Management Suite will support data access strategies common to the Veterans Affairs, including federation of databases (MUMPS, Oracle), integration with VistA applications and a variety of messaging protocols (XML, HL7, JMS), with both asynchronous and synchronous connectivity," stated Information Builders' Federal Sales Director Bill Lochten.
The Repositories Program will use iWay Software and its integration capabilities to provide Repositories Data Services (RDS) with an implementation that is consistent with the One VA Technical Reference Model (TRM) and the VA's strategic direction.
