PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - February 8, 2011) - A Tucson resident claimed the eighth of 10 available $1 million top prizes in the Arizona Lottery's $100 Million Cash Spectacular Scratchers(SM) game yesterday.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was in disbelief when he realized he had a winning $1 million ticket. His wife had to double-check the ticket, to make sure it was a winner. The ticket was purchased at Circle K, located at 401 S. Alvernon Way in Tucson.
"Miracles do happen," said the winner. "My wife and I both cried on and off all weekend. We really needed the money!"
The winner will receive the prize as a 20-year annuity, and plans to use his winnings to pay off bills.
"It's always a thrill when an Arizona Lottery player claims a Cash Spectacular Scratchers $1 million top prize," said Jeff Hatch-Miller, executive director of the Arizona Lottery. "It is a joy knowing this win will significantly impact the couple's life."
