HAYWARD, CA--(Marketwire - April 5, 2011) - True Life Communities, based in San Ramon, CA, is lending its support to the PGA TOUR's Fresh Express Classic, which will be held April 14-17 at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, with a goal of raising more than $250,000 for local Bay Area charities. True Life Communities, which is currently introducing the luxurious residences of Camberly Place at Stonebrae, will be the tournament's Clubhouse Presenting Sponsor.
The Fresh Express Classic will showcase the talents of 156 golfers who are aspiring to become PGA TOUR Members, competing in 72 holes of stroke play with a cut after 36 holes. The tournament is part of the 26-event 2011 Nationwide Tour, the official proving ground of the PGA TOUR, which awards tour cards at season's end to its 25 leading money winners. All four rounds of the Fresh Express Classic will be televised on The Golf Channel, the exclusive television home of the Nationwide Tour. Fresno native and former UCLA All-American Kevin Chappell won last year's event and is now competing on the PGA TOUR.
"We are thrilled to welcome True Life Communities to our family of generous sponsors for this great tournament, which is one of the most exciting events on the Nationwide Tour," said Fresh Express Classic Executive Director Jody Brothers. "Their support will play an important role in helping local nonprofit organizations achieve their individual charitable objectives."
Scott Clark, chairman and CEO of True Life Communities, stated, "We are pleased to have this opportunity to contribute to our community by assisting deserving charities right in our own backyard. We invite everyone in the East Bay to join us in supporting this exceptionally worthy cause."
Golf fans can contribute to the event's charitable goal by purchasing tickets to the Fresh Express Classic through the TICKETS Fore CHARITY program by visiting the Fresh Express Classic website at www.freshexpressclassic.com and clicking on "Buy Tickets." They will then have the opportunity to select their charity of choice from a list of registered nonprofits and purchase either daily or weekly tickets, with 100% of the net proceeds going directly to their designated charity.
True Life Communities joins title sponsor Fresh Express, a fully-owned subsidiary of Chiquita Brands International, Inc., and Stonebrae LP, developer of the Stonebrae community in which TPC Stonebrae resides, in helping make the Fresh Express Classic's charitable outreach initiatives possible.
