MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Apr 26, 2011) - Waverly-Shell Rock High School, Waverly, IA is the winner of the 2011 Tierney BrothersClassroom of the Future Technology Grant.
More than 30 schools competed for the 2011 grant, which was developed by Minneapolis-based Tierney Brothers to raise awareness about the benefits of classroom technology.
Waverly-Shell Rock High School was selected based on how other technology programs and tools have been used in the school, how programs were first initiated, technology goals, challenges and opportunities, and measureable impact on student engagement and learning.
"We're very excited," said Ken Winter, Principal. "We feel like this is just the beginning. Ultimately this technology will have an impact on up to two thousand of our students."
Plans will begin May 2011 for installation of a fully-integrated Tierney Brothers Classroom of the Future technology suite that includes a SMART Board™ interactive whiteboard with classroom-wide interconnectivity, Epson projector and a SAFARI Montage Video on Demand Server & Content.
