PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - May 16, 2011) - This week at LIGHTFAIR International, the world's largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, LUXIM will showcase its bright new light source, the 45,000-lumen STA 60. The latest Light Emitting Plasma [LEP™] product doubles the output emitted by LUXIM's STA 41 light source. This earlier-generation product was used to support activities associated with today's space shuttle launch at the Kennedy Space Center. The new product boosts LUXIM's portfolio and provides customers with a broader range of light source options to meet their specific lumen needs.
The footprint and form factor of the STA 60 are almost identical to the STA 41, which makes it ideal for fixtures already designed to accommodate this energy-efficient light source. The product is available in a 5500K correlated color temperature [CCT] version and a warmer 4500K CCT version. Like its predecessor, the STA 60 is dimmable to 20 percent, has a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, and cuts energy use in half. It's the world's most economic light-source solution for very high-output applications like city streets, parking lots, big-box retailers and large distribution centers. It's also a natural fit for the up-and-coming grow market.
Also at LIGHTFAIR, LUXIM technologists will host an Applications Training Session on Wednesday, May 18 at 1:00 p.m. in Exhibitor Meeting Room 202A. The session is designed for lighting designers, specifiers, fixture manufacturers and installers. It will cover best practices for designing industrial, commercial and outdoor light fixtures so that the advantages of LEP can be fully harnessed.
LIGHTFAIR International is being held in Philadelphia, PA from May 17-19. To view the new STA 60 product, stop by LUXIM's booth number 3319.
