Austin Ventures Promotes Jaime Aguirre to Principal

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2011) - Austin Ventures ("AV"), a leading $3.9 billion venture capital and growth equity firm, announced today the promotion of Jaime Aguirre to Principal.

Since joining AV in 2008 as a Senior Associate, Jaime has focused on opportunities in the supply chain, software, and healthcare sectors. He currently serves as a Director on the boards or is involved with AV portfolio companies Explorys, Port Logistics Group, Emerus, Limos.com, AVRON Partners, and Silverback.

Prior to joining AV, Jaime was a Vice President in the technology, media, and telecom investment banking group at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions in the technology industry. Jaime previously worked at Merrill Lynch, where he worked with that firm's Latin America group in Mexico City and Energy group in Houston. He has also spent time auditing companies at Arthur Andersen.

Jaime received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He also has a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
