Markku Hiltunen,(M.Sc. (Eng.)), aged 48, has been appointed as the head of OP-Pohjola Group's new development unit that will be established in Oulu. Mr Hiltunen will take up his duties as Director of OP-Services Ltd's Development Unit of Mobile Services and Electronic Sales on 15 August 2011. He is also a member of OP-Services Ltd's management team and reports to Harri Nummela, CEO of OP-Services Ltd.
Mr Hiltunen will join OP-Services Ltd from Nokia where he has worked in several managerial and expert positions in the field of product development, most recently as Director responsible for electronic and electromechanical projects of Symbian smartphones in Oulu and local head of Nokia's Bridge program.
OP-Services Ltd is in charge of developing, producing and maintaining products and services for OP-Pohjola Group. Its customers comprise other Group companies, such as Group member cooperative banks and Pohjola Group, to which it provides business development and ICT services as well as business process management services. In addition to the Development Unit of Mobile Services and Electronic Sales, other centres of excellence focusing on ICT services will be established in Oulu. In future, these operations are expected to employ up to 150 people in Oulu.
