Colonial Williamsburg's Summer Season Offers Families Adventure, Mystery and Fun

New Website and Brochure Give Families a Great Way to Plan a Summer Visit

WILLIAMSBURG, VA--(Marketwire - Jul 14, 2011) - This summer, Colonial Williamsburg's new hotel and program offerings will engage and entertain the entire family.

Programming
Starting tomorrow, kids can play RevQuest: Sign of the Rhinoceros, an alternate reality game giving players the opportunity to solve clues online and a mystery onsite. Families will decipher codes and uncover information from Historic Area interpreters and in hidden places to save the revolution. The game is free with a Colonial Williamsburg admission ticket. More information can be found at www.colonialwilliamsburg.com/revquest.

Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area is Live After 5 each evening, with a robust schedule of nightly programs from storytelling and music to dance and walking tours. During Cresset Lightings each night, families will witness bursts of activity with entertainment and interpreters.

Throughout July and August, enjoy Friday evenings on the Palace Green with A Salute to the Nation, an inspiring presentation presenting the ideals of America, featuring music, a short fireworks display and a march down Duke of Gloucester Street by Colonial Williamsburg's Fifes & Drums.

During Revolutionary City, the Historic Area transforms into a live street theater. This summer junior actor/interpreters perform in two new scenes, giving families a chance to see kids acting in one of Colonial Williamsburg's most popular programs while learning of the issues youth faced during the Revolution.
