FRIDAY HARBOR, WA--(Marketwire - Aug 30, 2011) - Rich media platform creator Sprout -- an alumni of Future in Review's (FiRe) original class of FiReStarters -- has been acquired by mobile advertising network InMobi. Sprout will remain independent and CEO Carnet Williams will join the executive team at InMobi to continue its operations.
Sprout (then Netvocate) was selected by FiRe in 2007 as a company expected to bring positive change to the world and was showcased onstage at the internationally acclaimed technology and economics conference.
Known for simplifying the complex process of HTML5 rich media mobile ad creation and distribution, Sprout's vision is to help advertisers "build once and deliver everywhere" on both mobile and desktop devices. Sprout's cloud-based platform brings efficiency and scale to organizations creating mobile ads and its rich media creatives are compatible with mobile devices supporting HTML5, including Apple iOS and Google Android devices. Sprout works with some of the world's leading brands, including Chevrolet, Disney, Paramount Pictures, HTC, Sega and Nokia.
Said Carnet Williams, CEO and co-founder of Sprout, "We're thrilled to be working so closely with InMobi. We're able to utilize its strong foothold in the global mobile market and take our game-changing technology around the world. The team's commitment to an open and independent Sprout made InMobi the clear choice for us."
Future in Review is an annual gathering of world-class thought leaders in technology and economics. FiRe attendees convene each year with the goal of solving major world problems; a goal that is consistently met through FiRe's collaboration across disparate industries and the intellectual and strategic guidance of FiRe Chair and SNS CEO, Mark Anderson. Now in its tenth year, Future in Review 2012 will take place May 22-25th at the beautiful Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, California. The Economist has called FiRe "The best technology conference in the world."
"We are very pleased to see Sprout recognized in the marketplace for its excellence in the latest web technologies. Every year, as we choose FiReStarters for our Future in Review Conference, we hope that these companies will grow and achieve liquidity events. Our congratulations go to everyone at Sprout for this success," said Anderson, FiRe Chair and SNS CEO.
