Meller Custom Sapphire Optics are ideally suited for applications requiring an optically clear, hard material that is abrasion-resistant and chemically inert. Fabricated in a wide range of shapes and sizes as lenses, windows, domes, prisms, cubes, and cylinders, custom fabricated sapphire optics can include features such as drilled holes, slots, wedges, stepped edges, and elliptical edge shaping.

Featuring Moh 9 hardness, which is second only to diamond, Meller Custom Sapphire Optics are available with surface finishes to 20-5 scratch-dig, flatness to ¼ wave, parallelism from 20 to 2 arc/secs., and various A/R coatings, depending upon configuration. Typical applications include medical devices and instruments, and military and aerospace equipment.
