Dimple Creation Surgery, Facial Gender Transformation, Rhinoplasty and the Aging Face Featured at 46th Annual Meeting of American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS)

ALEXANDRIA, VA--(Marketwire - Sep 8, 2011) - Dimpleplasty (a surgical technique used to create dimples), discussions challenging the aesthetic norm and facial gender transformation are among the trends that will be discussed at the 46^th annual meeting of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, September 8-11. The meeting regularly draws approximately 800 surgeons who gather to share best practices and to discuss breakthroughs and trends in facial plastic surgery.

A recent Omnibus survey showed nearly all (87%) Americans agree that if they were to have facial plastic surgery, it would be vital to have a facial plastic surgeon who specializes in the face versus a general plastic surgeon who also performs surgery on the body. AAFPRS surgeons are board certified plastic surgeons that focus on surgery of the face, head and neck. The Academy's annual meeting gives these surgeons a chance to refine their skills and stay on top of the latest trends. This year, in addition to 10 panels featuring new perspectives on traditional techniques and 70 instructional courses, the conference will offer in-depth workshops with live patient demonstrations on techniques such as laser and light therapy, injectable fillers and hair transplantation.
