CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Sep 28, 2011) - As consumers prepare for Medicare open enrollment, GoHealth experts have created an infographic to help demonstrate options for eligible individuals.
This year open enrollment lasts from October 15 to December 7, 2011. During this period individuals considering Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage should compare options to ensure their health insurance needs are met for 2012.
"By diving into Medicare insurance options early, consumers give themselves more time to review choices for future benefits. If individuals are getting coverage for the first time or aren't happy with their current coverage, now is the time to change that," said Mark Colwell, Manager of Consumer Marketing at GoHealthInsurance.com.
Individuals eligible for Medicare have two paths to choose from -- original Medicare or Medicare Advantage. The infographic demonstrates the basic differences between the two options. For example, one major difference is that Medicare Advantage is provided by private health insurance companies and original Medicare is run by the federal government.
"Individuals eligible for Medicare should talk to a health insurance agent before making a final decision. Agents will help consumers make decisions based on their individual needs and budget," added Colwell.
