Aconex and Tidefall Partner to Improve Management of Construction Designs and Models

Partnership Further Expands Aconex Client Services and Operations Across Canada

SAN BRUNO, CA, and CALGARY, AB--(Marketwire - Oct 12, 2011) - Aconex, the world's largest provider of online collaboration solutions to the construction and engineering industries, and Tidefall Software and Services Inc, a full-service project management solution provider to the construction and engineering industries, have announced a partnership to help clients maximize the return on their investments in design and modelling software, through better team collaboration on multi-party projects.

Tidefall helps Canadian capital project teams to improve the efficiency of critical functions such as engineering, design review, and project turnover to the client, by implementing and supporting industry-specific software tools designed for interoperability and collaboration. Tidefall partners with world-class technology providers such as Bentley Systems, and expert industry consultants, to bring those solutions and resources to the Canadian market.

Tidefall will now offer the Aconex online collaboration platform to help clients automate business processes to capture, transmit, review and approve project information -- such as BIM, 2D and 3D drawings and models, as well as other project assets -- regardless of what software they were created in. Construction and engineering firms often employ their own individual project management systems for these functions which frequently overlap and compete with those of other partners in their project ecosystem. This hinders a truly collaborative project environment, and increases the risk of working from inconsistent or incorrect designs and documents.

The Aconex Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform allows engineering and construction project teams to collaborate from any location using a secure, web-based interface. Each organization on the project will use Aconex to both manage their firm's project documents and correspondence, and to collaborate on that data with other contributors and stakeholders. This approach eliminates the typically multi-siloed communication channels that so often delay construction and engineering projects, ending in budget and schedule overruns.

"Aconex is helping us to ensure our clients have the tools they need to deliver successful projects," said John Lusty, President of Tidefall. "Partnering with Aconex allows us to further enhance our client services by offering a web-based platform for efficient collaboration. Importantly, it has been proven on thousands of projects, both in Canada and internationally. Our clients will enjoy the quick deployment and ease-of-use, no matter how straightforward or complex their projects."

"Tidefall clients can now improve collaboration with other project participants on a secure, neutral platform, maximizing their investments in best-of-breed modelling and design software," said Dexter Bachelder, VP of Aconex. "We look forward to helping Tidefall clients better manage project information for the entire project lifecycle -- from design to construction phase, through information handover to facility operations and maintenance."
