Precise Biometrics Appoints GD Burti as Exclusive Distributor of Their
Fingerprint & Smartcard Readers in Brazil

Precise Biometrics has chosen GD Burti, Giesecke & Devrient's Brazilian
subsidiary, to be the exclusive distributor of its fingerprint/smartcard
readers in Brazil. G&D is expecting a large demand for biometric card
readers in Brazil following the rollout of the Brazilian National ID and
is well-positioned to play an important role in the project.

The Brazilian national ID card will provide all Brazilian citizens with
a unique credential. The chip will contain the person's fingerprints,
enabling them to be securely identified, so their information cannot be
stolen or used by other individuals. Biometric readers are needed to
access the information on the card. Cost-effectiveness is important, as
are speed and accuracy, which ensure that the card data is accessed
quickly and accurately

The Precise Sense™ line of readers, launched earlier this year, is
expected to fulfill the requirements for readers of the Brazil National
ID. Precise Sense MC is a contact card reader with a fingerprint touch
sensor, while the Precise Sense MC-S provides a contact card reader with
a fingerprint swipe sensor. Both offer cost-efficiency, ease-of-use, and
secure authentication.

“We expect a considerable demand for a combined fingerprint/smartcard
reader in the Brazilian national ID project, and the Precise Sense
readers allow us to offer a cost-effective solution,” said Luiz Menezes,
Managing Director of GD Burti. “As the exclusive distributor of Precise
Biometrics in Brazil, we are well-positioned to fulfill the demand for
readers as the national ID roll-out progresses.”

Precise Biometrics' CEO Thomas Marschall said, “The scale of the
Brazilian National ID and the ways it will be used require accurate and
easy-to-use readers. Precise Sense is a perfect fit.” He continued, “We
are convinced that G&D will be the ideal partner to introduce our
readers into Brazilian market. Their expertise and deep knowledge of the
special requirements of a major national ID project will contribute to a
successful rollout, and Precise Biometrics is pleased to be a part of
it.”

The Brazilian National ID will be rolled out over the next nine years,
and hardware infrastructure is expected to be in place earlier than
prior national ID rollouts.
