LANGHORNE, Pa., Oct. 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Social and casual game developer and publisher, Entertainment Games, Inc. (OTC Pink: EGAM), announced a licensing agreement with Dick Clark and Dick Clark Productions (dcp) which will see Dick Clark become the host of the tutorial in the company's upcoming social game for Facebook, Google+, mobile devices and the open web.
Under this agreement, DCP, a leading independent producer of television programming, will license the Dick Clark images to Entertainment Games. These images will be incorporated into the game as well as into a variety of Dick Clark-branded virtual goods that can be purchased within the game. Dick Clark will license rights to his name and likeness to be used along with the images.
Today's announcement follows recent licensing deals with Elvis Presley Enterprises and CMG Worldwide, and signals the company's ambitious plan to release the industry's first authentic, nostalgia-based social game in November 2011 developed on the company's proprietary Heyday platform.
"Dick Clark is an entertainment icon. His remarkable career has left an undeniable fingerprint on fifty-plus years of popular culture," said Gene Mauro, President of Entertainment Games. "There is no better figure than Dick Clark to host our game and guide players through exciting journeys back to their heydays."
Recognized across generations and the world, Dick Clark is an Emmy Award-winning TV and radio personality best known for hosting long running television shows such as American Bandstand, five versions of the award-winning game show Pyramid, and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve.
"The idea of using past images of myself to guide players through a current online social game is a very innovative approach that I found intriguing," said Dick Clark. "I look forward to serving as your host on this nostalgic and ground-breaking gaming experience."
