The new SAILOR 900 VSAT solution for the maritime market was very well received, and the company saw a strong order intake.
- Q2 revenue in the aeronautical area was DKK 42 million (DKK 11 million) – the highest level ever for any quarter.
- Systems revenue, which is strongly dependent on single orders, increased to DKK 47 million (DKK 37 million).
- Total H1 revenue was DKK 522 million (DKK 516 million).
- Operating profit was DKK 78 million (DKK 75 million), equivalent to an operating margin of 14.9% (14.6%).
- The profit for the reporting period was DKK 58 million (DKK 52 million), an improvement of 10%.
- The cash inflow from operating activities increased to DKK 162 million (DKK 146 million). The free cash flow from operating and investing activities before acquisitions and financing increased to stand at DKK 91 million (DKK 79 million).
- In order to accelerate the development of new products, the company will set up 50 new jobs for engineers, an increase of some 25%.
As announced earlier in November, revenue for the full year 2011/12 is expected to be around DKK 1,085–1,135 million (DKK 1,093 million) as the severe floods in Bangkok are expected to have an adverse impact on parts of the company's supplies over the next few months. The operating margin is expected to be around 15% (17.8%).
"Thrane & Thrane reported robust revenue in the second quarter of the year despite difficult market conditions. We see strong demand for our new products in the maritime as well as the land mobile and aeronautical areas. In order to accelerate this positive development, we are now taking in 30–50 engineers in new positions in our development departments," said CEO Walther Thygesen, commenting on the interim report.
