DULLES, VA--(Marketwire - Jan 24, 2012) - Echo360, the global leader in campus-wide blended learning and lecture capture solutions, is hosting a complimentary webinar examining results of a recent research project on the use of recorded screencasts and their vital place in the blended learning model on February 8, 2012 at 11 am ET, 4 pm GMT.
Registration for the webinar is now open and available at: http://tinyurl.com/7txqwg6.
The webinar, Blended Learning Best in Class: Taking the Distance out of Online Learning, will analyze the findings of a research project conducted at the University of Sussex. The project, titled ME2U, studied how instructors' use of recorded screencasts supported student learning and further fueled student demand for lecture capture in the classroom. The ME2U project was selected as one of four recipients of grant funding with their successful application to Echo360's Blended Learning Grants Program in 2010.
Dr. John Davies and Clare Hardman, members of the Teaching and Development Unit at the University of Sussex and lead project investigators, will be the featured speakers. They will conduct the webinar in an inverted format, based on the innovative flipped classroom model, where attendees are urged to review the research before the webinar and subsequently have their questions addressed by the speakers during the live event.
Webinar topics include:
- How university instructors respond to using screencasts in their courses
- Student reaction to the inverted classroom model
- If learning outcomes improved through the use of blended learning
- How students used screencasts in their coursework
University deans, faculty and directors of academic computing/information technology are encouraged to attend. All webinar attendees will receive a full copy of the ME2U findings upon registration and are asked to submit their questions in advance of the event via Twitter at #ME2UResearch or on Echo360's Facebook page.
