LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - Jan 26, 2012) - During a breakfast with the valley's top business leaders this morning, the formerly called Consumer Credit Counseling Service celebrated 40 years of community service and unveiled its new name and brand: Financial Guidance Center. The name Financial Guidance Center was chosen to better reflect the vast array of financial programs and services the agency offers to enable Nevadans to reduce debt, gain and retain assets and move forward on the path to financial stability.
"We are thrilled to announce our new name and our new brand," said Financial Guidance Center President/CEO Michele Johnson. "Our previous name was too vague and only focused on one aspect of the services we offer. Now, under the Financial Guidance Center name and brand, we can more successfully market our services and programs to the many individuals and families throughout Nevada who continue to struggle financially under the incredible strain the economy has placed on our state and to those who are in the position to take advantage of the many asset development programs provided."
For the past 40 years, Financial Guidance Center has helped individuals and families with services that are tailored to each unique case. Financial Guidance Center services include down payment assistance programs, Individual Development Account Program, debt management, financial literacy programs and classes, financial and housing counseling, bankruptcy counseling and education, and free tax services.
Financial Guidance Center provides service to more than 2,500 individuals and families each month. Over the course of its 40-year history, Financial Guidance Center has assisted more than 497,846 individuals and households.
Financial Guidance Center's 40-year anniversary celebration event was held this morning at the Stan Fulton Building on the UNLV campus. Headlining the event were Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto, Nevada Supreme Court Justice Michael Douglas, and world-renowned speaker and humorist Tim Gard.
