CLEARWATER, Fla., Feb. 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) today announced that it has appointed Joseph H. Quaglia to President, TDMobility. In this role, Quaglia will lead the strategic direction, operations, and go-to-market execution of TDMobility, the Company's mobility offering. Quaglia has served the Company as Senior Vice President of U.S. Marketing since 2007 and will retain this position in addition to his new role. Quaglia reports to Murray Wright, President, The Americas.

TDMobility provides Tech Data's channel of 60,000 resellers with a complete platform of wireless services, including the industry's first one-stop for hardware, software and mobility solutions, including service plans and activation. TDMobility is operated by ActivateIT, a joint venture between Tech Data and Brightstar Corp. formed in April 2011.

In his role as Senior Vice President, U.S. Marketing, Quaglia is responsible for the operations and strategic direction of the Company's Product Marketing, Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) and TDAgency divisions. Over the last five years, he has led the successful launch of the Company's StreamOne platform, TDCloud and TDMobility, the expansion of Tech Data's healthcare vertical and AIS division, and the design and launch of TDAgency's vertical and end-user demand generation marketing programs.

Quaglia holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Indiana State University and an M.B.A. from Butler University.
