RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - Mar 20, 2012) - Service provider CloudOps has deployed the ScienceLogic™ Inc. cloud management platform to centralize and optimize IT operations across the various data center and cloud environments CloudOps uses to manage its customers' Web-based applications. CloudOps focuses on migrating, optimizing and running cloud-based applications, specializing in hybrid cloud architectures that blend private IT infrastructure with on-demand computing from companies such as Amazon, Rackspace and Google.
"To enhance operational efficiency as we grow, we needed to consolidate a range of disparate management functions and toolsets, and attain centralized visibility into performance across hybrid environments," said Ian Rae, CEO of CloudOps. "After investigating about two dozen tools, we chose ScienceLogic because it was built with performance and management across both data center and cloud environments in mind. This enables us to unify our management functions and create a foundation for delivering peak application performance for our customers."
Using ScienceLogic's pre-integrated IT management software functions, such as incident, fault, performance and asset management, along with ticketing and run book automation, CloudOps receives a constantly updated, unified picture of service delivery across physical, virtual and cloud environments. This provides the tools and knowledge to help maintain consistent end user service levels. In addition, CloudOps will use the ScienceLogic platform's REST-based APIs to easily integrate with other applications as needed.
The ScienceLogic platform also improves the level of visibility CloudOps can provide to customers and prospects via the embedded multi-tenant portal. This is especially important during the pre-sales cycle, as it allows CloudOps to present one integrated view into day-to-day operations, upgrades, monitoring and optimization.
The platform's multi-tenant capabilities enable tailored views into each customer's data, which include service levels and availability, performance levels, ticket queues and bandwidth usage. This helps service providers such as CloudOps be more responsive and transparent to its customers and their end users. The company can also quickly add revenue-generating services across virtual and cloud resources, without the time and expense of integrating multiple management tools.
"CloudOps has developed a specialized, core offering to efficiently manage its customers' business-critical applications across hybrid infrastructures," said Dave Link, CEO of ScienceLogic. "Just as CloudOps helps its customers focus on their core business, ScienceLogic provides an IT operations base from which our service provider and enterprise customers can manage any mix of traditional and cloud environments as one service management control panel, which is paramount to successfully delivering IT services."
