VISTA, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 3, 2012) - McCain Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of intelligent transportation systems, traffic control equipment and parking guidance solutions, today announced the acquisition of a three-year traffic controller cabinet contract with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). The contract is anticipated to cover the acquisition of approximately nine hundred traffic cabinets, including North Carolina versions of both the 332 and 336S.
McCain's 332-NCDOT-2012 and 336S-NCDOT-2012 traffic controller cabinets exceed industry standard specifications for 332 and 336S cabinets. The base mounted 332 controller cabinet has an industry reputation of being durable and offers plenty of inside space, while the 336S is smaller and ideal for pole mounting. Both cabinets' innovative designs include environmental friendly, mercury-free construction, energy efficient power supply, and "Normally Energized" circuitry signal bus convention, similar to the NEMA specification.
"North Carolina DOT and other entities are looking for solutions that improve reliability, quality and energy efficiency," said Reza Roozitalab P.E., applications manager for McCain Inc. "Our 332 and 336S cabinets offer the same dependable design as all of our industry standard cabinets, but include additional features for the Agency, making them a perfect fit for any project."
Both traffic controller cabinets are designed to house 170 or 2070 controllers and come equipped with a 19-inch Electronics Industry Alliance (EIA) rack. The cabinets are equipped with a plug-in voltage transient suppressor to provide conditioned power for the controller unit, power supply and input file devices. Both cabinets have reduced circuit breaker values to be more compatible with current lower power LED signal loads. Best of all, both the 332 and 336S cabinets offer standard assemblies that make interchangeability and upgrades easy.
