OCBC Endorses Tom Daly for State Assembly

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 16, 2012) - Orange County Business Council (OCBC), the leading voice of business in Orange County, has endorsed Tom Daly for State Assembly, 69th District. Daly currently serves as the Orange County Clerk-Recorder, and has for the last ten years. Prior to his election as Clerk-Recorder, Daly served as Mayor of Anaheim for ten years, as an Anaheim City Councilman for four years, and as member of the Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees for three years.

"Tom's service in public office has provided him an understanding of how government can reduce red tape to increase government efficiencies, improve business opportunities to invest and grow, and help regain the public trust through positive interaction," said Lucy Dunn, President and CEO of Orange County Business Council.

Under his leadership as Clerk-Recorder, the department has implemented innovative electronic systems for recording and tracking milestone documents relating to real estate transactions and birth, death, and marriage certificates. As the Mayor of Anaheim, he was an advocate for economic development and tourism, as well as devoted to community improvements.

Daly's background and practical experience of working directly with constituents as well as business will provide a helpful perspective in Sacramento on how government can be more responsive and accountable in these challenging economic times.
