LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 25, 2012) - At the upcoming annual Aesthetic Meeting for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Daniel C. Mills MD, a plastic surgeon in Orange County, will be delivering a course instruction for attendees on breast asymmetry and a "Hot Topic" lecture on VASER liposuction and Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells. The course, titled Breast Asymmetry: Strategies for Improving Outcomes and Patient Satisfaction, will take place on Friday May 4, 2012 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will be taught by Dr. Dan Mills and Dr. Anne Taylor. Dr. Mills says he hopes the course will help educate surgeons about the complexities of identifying, categorizing, and treating breast asymmetry in an effort to enhance patient care and results.
The Aesthetic Meeting 2012 for ASAPS will be going on from May 3-8 at the Convention & Exhibition Center in Vancouver and features over 200 technical and scientific exhibits, hands-on cadaver workshops, and live demonstrations. Dr. Mills stresses the importance of regular attendance at continuing education events such as the ASAPS conference because they give plastic surgeons a chance to hone their skills and keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in techniques and technology. He says he looks forward to the opportunity to share his experience in helping patients correct breast asymmetry and is excited to promote the future of cosmetic enhancements: "Breast symmetry represents a high priority for patients. It is important for plastic surgeons to learn how best to achieve this goal for the patients through learning opportunities such as the ASAPS meeting and courses of this nature. Members share their experience with developing effective methods to help patients achieve their aesthetic enhancement goals."
During his upcoming course on strategic approaches to improving breast asymmetry surgery, Dr. Mills says he hopes attendees will leave the presentation with a much more detailed outlook on performing breast surgery. He says the course is designed to help those in attendance correctly classify the many types of breast asymmetry based on current data, develop and execute a surgical treatment plan to improve patient deformities, and correctly identify and treat secondary breast asymmetry. More information regarding ASAPS lectures and Dr. Mills' course can be found here.
In addition to the course on breast asymmetry surgery, Dr. Mills will also be giving a "Hot Topics" presentation titled "3rd Generation UAL Viability of Fat Cells and ADRCS Using Established Standardized Methods." Dr. Mills says the presentation focuses on the viability of Adipose tissue collected using the VASER method of liposuction and whether this type of tissue is a suitable source for autologous fat grafts and Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells (ADRC).
Participating in continuing education courses and workshops is essential to a surgeon's ability to provide patients with the safest and most effective treatments according to Dr. Mills. He encourages patients considering a cosmetic enhancement procedure to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who stays active in the medical community so as to ensure they receive top-quality care. As he looks forward to the event, Dr. Mills adds that he is excited for the opportunity to continue pursuing the most satisfactory outcomes for his patients through the ASAPS conference and all his educational endeavors: "ASAPS represents the most recent advances in aesthetic plastic surgery, which is why participation is paramount. ASAPS members are committed to using cutting-edge techniques proven to produce consistent results that satisfy their patients' goals. I strive to grow and improve every day to ensure I maintain the highest levels of patient satisfaction and quality outcomes, and my involvement with ASAPS is an important part of making that happen."
