MIPS Technologies to Present Keynote, "Application Development on Android(TM) Today," at COMPUTEX Mobile Forum


SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 4, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MIPS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for home entertainment, networking, mobile and embedded applications, today announced that MIPS' Principal Mobile Architect, Amit Rohatgi, will present a keynote speech during the COMPUTEX Mobile Forum at COMPUTEX TAIPEI, one of the world's largest computer and technology fairs. COMPUTEX TAIPEI will be held June 5-9, in Taipei, Taiwan. Mr. Rohatgi will speak on June 6, from 11:10 a.m. -11:50 a.m., at the Taipei International Convention Center, Room 102.

Mr. Rohatgi will present, "Application Development on Android™ Today," exploring the current state of Android application development, including challenges, potential solutions and the outlook for the future. Mr. Rohatgi will also explore the pros and cons of development using the main alternatives including Dalvik, the Android Native Development Kit (NDK), web apps and Renderscript.

Mr. Rohatgi joined MIPS Technologies in 2011 as principal mobile architect. He previously spent 12 years as senior staff engineer/manager at Qualcomm Inc. Mr. Rohatgi has deep engineering expertise spanning a diverse background in multimedia and physical layer embedded systems, modem design, mobile chip architecture, DSP firmware and security architectures. At MIPS, his responsibilities encompass all aspects of the mobile business including customer interaction, chipset architecture, ecosystem, business development and marketing.
