Players Network to Produce 2012 "Golden Boot Awards" During NFR as a Live "Signature Event"

This announcement is primarily to thank shareholders who have believed in Players Network as the company has continued to grow, and have supported PNTV while waiting for a press release announcing a deal significant enough to unleash all the assets Players Network has announced in previous press releases regarding the integration of Live Events with Media; our powerful Enterprise Web Platform with which to build, operate and market Lifestyle Channel Destinations; our relationships in Las Vegas; our distribution and more.

In Ceremonies from 1983 through 2007, "Golden Boots" - which have been called the "Academy of the Westerns - have been presented to President Ronald Reagan, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Kirk Douglas, James Stewart, Burt Reynolds, Johnny Cash, Tom Selleck, Jane Seymour, Jane Fonda, Mark Harmon, James Caan, Michael Landon, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Robert Duval, Jack Palance, Robert Mitchum, Jane Russell, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and hundred more notable western stars, directors, character actors and stunt men.

All rights to the "Golden Boot Awards" were bequeathed to the Motion Picture and Television Fund in Woodland Hills (www.mptvfund.org/), so the humanitarian organization supported by so many in Hollywood could benefit from its proceeds. The 25th Anniversary "Golden Boot Awards" Ceremony, held August 11, 2007 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, was the last, as proceeds generated were not enough to cover the cost of production. The Fund ceased producing the event. Not a single  "Golden Boots" has been awarded for the last five years. That is about to change.

PNTV principle, writer/producer Michael Berk ("Baywatch", "Soul Surfer") partnered with the MPTF to reimagine and relaunch the new "Golden Boot Awards" with a star-packed, televised Awards Show to be held in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo. The Golden Boot will introduce new Award Categories honoring Professional Cowboys - Rodeo Cowboys – with Golden Boots presented to them by Movie and TV Cowboys they grew up admiring. These new categories will expand the Golden Boot Awards relevance to include one of the strongest audience demographics in America and worldwide, Rodeo Fans.

With the rights in place, Berk brought the Golden Boot Awards into Players Network so the company could produce the Live Event, the annual Television show, New Media Content surrounding the Golden Boot Western and Country Music Lifestyle, and utilize PNTV's Enterprise Web Platform to merchandise and marketing the Golden Boot Lifestyle and Brand. 

Players Network is proud to announce today that it has taken another major step toward executing its plan to produce the new "Golden Boot Awards" in Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo.   Las Vegas Events (lasvegasevents.com) is the exclusive Major Special Events agency for Vegas, promoting and organizing "Signature Events" such as the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.  Not only has LVE accepted the "Golden Boot Awards" as a new "Signature Event" on its roster, LVE has agreed to promote, market and support the Golden Boot throughout the National Finals Rodeo, Cowboy Christmas, and NFR Experience in December 2012.
