Everett Schenk Retires After 14 Years at the Helm of BNP Paribas North America

BNP Paribas Appoints Jean-Yves Fillion as CEO for BNP Paribas' North American Activities


PARIS and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jul 16, 2012) - BNP Paribas announces that Everett Schenk, Chief Executive Officer for BNP Paribas' North American Corporate and Investment Banking ("CIB") activities, will be retiring effective September 30, 2012 after over 23 years with the Bank and 14 years at the head of the Bank in North America. Jean-Yves Fillion, who is currently Head of BNP Paribas Fortis CIB, will succeed Everett as CEO for BNP Paribas' North American CIB activities (*).

Prior to returning to Europe in 2010, Jean-Yves headed Client Coverage for BNP Paribas CIB in North America focusing on developing and managing global long-term strategic client relationships. Jean-Yves began his career 28 years ago in the investment banking division of the Bank. He has held a variety of positions in North America as Head of Media & Telecommunication Finance, Acquisition Finance and Structured Finance. Jean-Yves is currently Head of BNP Paribas Fortis CIB as well as a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas Fortis.

Dominique Remy will replace Jean-Yves Fillion as Head of BNP Paribas Fortis CIB in Brussels and will retain his responsibilities as Global Head of the Structured Finance activity of BNP Paribas CIB. With these new responsibilities, Dominique will join the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Fortis and he will also be proposed to the relevant corporate bodies of BNP Paribas Fortis as a successor to Jean-Yves Fillion on the the BNP Paribas Fortis Board of Directors.

(*) Like Everett, Jean-Yves Fillion will also have responsibility for overseeing BNP Paribas' Asset Management and Securities Services activities in North America.
