SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 24, 2012) - DotNetNuke Corp., the company behind the most widely adopted Web Content Management Platform for Microsoft .NET, today announced that CanSport LIVE, Canada's first full-service digital solutions provider for amateur sports, federations, teams and clubs, has selected the DotNetNuke Web Content Management System (WCMS) to create affordable and easy-to-use sites for clients. CanSport LIVE's network gives sports clubs the ability to connect with their communities and fans online and easily delegate content updates, including event schedules, scores, game images, fundraising activities and more.
CanSport LIVE's network of amateur sport associations covers 60 individual sports in Canada, including Rugby Ontario and the Ontario Soccer Association. To meet the website management needs of more than 250 network websites, CanSport LIVE searched for a WCMS that would enable local clubs and regional sports authorities to easily manage and modify the information on their sites. The decision to use DotNetNuke was essential in helping CanSport LIVE quickly establish a national Web presence and begin marketing its services to a large audience.
"Our goal is to provide Canada's sporting teams with clean and modern websites that members can easily maintain," said Jason Nagy, CIO of CanSport LIVE. "By using a customizable site template, we make content management simple and effective for our member sites."
The availability of thousands of modules on the DotNetNuke Store was a key factor in choosing DotNetNuke for CanSport LIVE, shaving months off of the delivery of the initial network offering. The commercial modules built into the network offering enable teams to customize according to their unique needs. The modules allow teams to incorporate multilingual sites, provide simple team registration, and upload schedules, maps and reports.
"Time-to-market was a critical consideration in choosing our platform," said Nagy. "The DotNetNuke platform and the ready availability of off-the-shelf extensions allowed us to launch quickly and extend our reach to new clubs, teams and markets in a fraction of the time it would have taken with other solutions."
"A flexible, extensible content solution is essential for many organizations," said, Richard Dumas, senior director of product marketing at DotNetNuke Corp. "CanSport LIVE is another great example of how a powerful, commercial grade network of sites can be launched quickly, yet provides a user-friendly interface for non-technical content owners. Canadian sports teams can now easily update their sites regularly, to keep their passionate followers up-to-date on all that's going on with the teams they're supporting."
