CHICAGO, July 31, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Echo Global Logistics, Inc. (Nasdaq:ECHO), a leading provider of technology-enabled transportation and supply chain management services, announced today the promotion of Scott Boyer to Executive Vice President of Sales and the appointment of Tyler S. Ellison to the position of Executive Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Scott Boyer has been with Echo over the past two years in the position of Senior Vice President of Sales. "Scott has been instrumental in helping Echo achieve the growth we have experienced through his leadership and strong client development skills. This new appointment will allow Scott to directly set the strategy and provide the necessary leadership for our sales efforts that include both transactional and enterprise clients," said Doug Waggoner, Chief Executive Officer of Echo Global Logistics.
Mr. Boyer has more than 16 years of business development and management experience in supply chain and transportation industries. Prior to joining Echo, Mr. Boyer was the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for PLS Logistics Services. Mr. Boyer has also held Executive positions with Penske Logistics and Caterpillar Logistics. Mr. Boyer earned an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology as well as undergraduate degrees in Nuclear Technology and Management.
As part of joining Echo Global Logistics, Mr. Tyler Ellison will maintain broad operational responsibilities across all logistics service areas including Truckload, LTL and Intermodal capabilities. Prior to joining Echo Global Logistics, Mr. Ellison held the position of Group President and Interim Chief Operating Officer at Greatwide Logistics, based in Dallas, Texas. Prior to his position with Greatwide, Mr. Ellison was the President of Con-Way Multimodal, based in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Ellison earned his B.A. at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, a JD at the William Mitchell College of Law and a Master's in International Logistics at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Both Mr. Boyer and Mr. Ellison will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Doug Waggoner.
