Dallas, Texas, Aug. 13, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Seven U.S. military veterans and their families will each be handed the keys to a newly renovated, mortgage-free home next month, made possible because of the charitable contributions and support of a group of mortgage industry leaders.
The home giveaway will take place during the Five Star Conference and Expo on September 6, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. Homes will be awarded to American heroes wounded in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, and presented on behalf of the Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) and its Homes4WoundedHeroes program.
"The sacrifices these veterans have made for our country and our freedom are beyond measure. We are honored to be part of this special event recognizing their strength and heroism," said Chris Azur, president of ServiceLink, the national lender platform for Fidelity National Financial and principal sponsor of the home giveaway.
Eight other industry leaders have joined ServiceLink in support of the MWSF Homes4WoundedHeroes presentation at the Five Star Conference. Bank of America, Chase, GMAC, and Wells Fargo are donating the homes to be awarded. Mortgage Contracting Services, the National Firm, PCV/VRM Seeds of Hope, and Wingspan Portfolio Advisors have made contributions to support the recipients' transition to homeownership.
This is the Five Star Conference's second year to host MWSF's Homes4WoundedHeroes giveaway, fostering a collaborative kinship among companies typically competing head-to-head for market share. On this day, they set aside those rivalries to step up on the Five Star stage side-by-side, in front of the largest gathering of their default servicing colleagues ever assembled--all to honor the nation's servicemen and women and the contributions they make on a daily basis toward the betterment of the country, their fellow Americans, and people all over the world.
