Husband's Role in Orlando Mommy Makeover

ORLANDO, FL--(Marketwire - Aug 23, 2012) - Many women undergo Mommy Makeovers every year; however, the woman is not always the only one affected by the procedural process and results. Mr. McGuire says his wife had always mentioned having a tummy tuck and breast augmentation in passing. When she eventually posed the question as to what he would think if she went through with a Mommy Makeover, Mr. McGuire says he was fully supportive and, barring a tight money situation, could not understand why any husband would say no to the opportunity for his wife to feel better about herself. He adds that he feels the decision clearly would have been harder if he had not been supportive; however, her choice probably would have come down to how adamant he was about her not having the surgery.

"I know my support took a lot of pressure off of her, so she didn't have to worry about me," Mr. McGuire says. "Preoperatively, I was principally the 'encourager.' When the surgery date grew closer and she grew more nervous, I would just remind her of her real desire for the procedures. It was pretty much her decision after that, and she was the only one she had to convince."

Mr. McGuire says his support was most needed post-operatively due to his wife's limitations: "I was 'Super Nurse.' The tummy tuck surgery was one of the more major cosmetic surgeries one can have and there was significant down time for her. I assisted in everyday care such as dressing changes, giving of medications, and overall routine care. We were both well informed by Dr. Jon Paul Trevisani and his staff about the post-operative needs, so there were no surprises."

Following recovery, Mr. McGuire says the tummy tuck and breast augmentation results have returned the confidence his wife had years ago, adding that a spark has been rekindled in their marriage.
