Fishkill, NY Sept 18, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE)--Delivery of an airborne hyperspectral imaging system to the U.S. Government was formally made last month by system developer Advanced Reconnaissance Corp (ARC), following a series of successful Government tests. The automatic system accurately detects and recognizes targets using hyperspectral imaging, and is adaptable to multi-mission surveillance applications.
"The performance demonstrated during this testing period has once again confirmed ARC's ability to detect concealed targets at detection rates that exceed the capabilities of typical airborne hyperspectral imaging systems," said Dr. Renee Kent, Vice President, of ARC's Engineering & Operations Division. "Our system design is robust, yet remains lightweight to accommodate a variety of mission scenarios."
The hyperspectral imaging system is based on ARC's "Precision ARTIS" family of products developed for automatic recognition of selected features in commercial and defense applications. This product set operates from an operational flight altitude up to 12,000 feet.
Advanced Reconnaissance Corp. is a world leader in the research, development, and production of advanced multispectral and hyperspectral sensor systems with real-time processing for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance applications. ARC provides solutions and services to commercial and military customers through its offices in Fishkill, New York, and Annapolis, Maryland.
