International Superstar Sean Paul Nominated for Soul Train, MTV Europe Music & MOBO Awards

Pop/Dancehall Star Snags Three Nominations Following the International & US Release of Sean's Fifth Studio Album TOMAHAWK TECHNIQUE

NEW YORK, Sept. 27, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hot on the heels of the US release of "Tomahawk Technique" on September 18th, Sean Paul has been nominated for a Soul Train Award (Best Caribbean Performance), Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Award (Best Reggae Act) and MTV Europe Music Award (Best World Stage). The nominations are the latest in a string of accolades for the Grammy and American Music Award winning artist, who has seen his latest album top the charts across the globe. Anchored by the recently released smash single "How Deep Is Your Love" featuring Kelly Rowland, "Got 2 Luv U" featuring Alexis Jordan and "She Doesn't Mind," "Tomahawk Technique" has been strategically released in different territories over the past few months to universally rave reviews.

"I am incredibly thankful for these nominations and for the support of all of my fans," said Sean Paul. "To see the continued appreciation for my music and my performances is a great feeling."

This marks the fourth MOBO Award nomination for Sean Paul (including wins for Best Reggae Act in 2006 & 2009), the third Soul Train Award nomination (including a win for Best Reggae Artist in 2009) and the second MTV Europe Music Award nomination (including a win for Best New Act). Currently in the midst of a US Tour, Paul has sold over 10 Million albums worldwide since bursting onto the scene in 2000 with "Stage One." His latest effort, "Tomahawk Technique,"was recorded with a star-studded collection of collaborators including Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Wiz Khalifa, Ke$ha), Norwegian duo Stargate (Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown) and superstar producer Rico Love (Usher, Natasha Bedingfield, Beyonce), resulting in an album filled with chart topping hits. Taking an interest in every aspect of the album, Sean Paul even designed the cover art for the project.

"Tomahawk Technique" is the next step in Sean's continual pop dominance, the next in a wave of classic albums that also includes the multi-platinum, Grammy-winning classic Dutty Rock and the platinum smash The Trinity. With an undeniable track record for crafting hit singles as a solo artist, including cuts like "Get Busy," "Gimme The Light," "Like Glue," "We Be Burnin'" and "Temperature," as well as a history of taking other artists' songs to the next level through tracks like Beyonce's "Baby Boy," Jay Sean's "Do You Remember" and Eve's "Give It To You," Sean Paul has established himself as one of the seminal pop voices of his generation. These successes have earned him a plethora of awards including the 2006 American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist.
