The Pageant of the Masters Brought Art to Life on "Dancing with the Stars"

LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 17, 2012) -  Last week when Olympic Medalist Apolo Ohno came up with his concept of living statues to be included in his dance number with partner Karina Smirnoff, who did the "Dancing with the Stars" producer call? Only the experts on this subject, the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach.

"We've got to show them something they haven't seen before. Not just that they haven't seen you do before, or me do, but something that is so memorable," said Smirnoff during the show. With the Pageant's help they did just that. Their stunning Foxtrot dance number that featured Greek statues coming to life was rated highly by the judges and brought the audience to its feet.

"It is quite gratifying for the Pageant of the Masters to be considered experts in the field of tableaux vivants. It was a fun experience for the team to go behind the scenes of 'Dancing with the Stars,'" said Pageant of the Masters Director Diane Challis Davy.

After the show, Smirnoff tweeted to her fans, "Thank u so much Pageant 4 letting our creative idea come to life!" Check out Ohno's and Smirnoff's dancing number on the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters Facebook page at http://www.Facebook.com/FestivalPageant.
