SANDY, UT--(Marketwire - Oct 22, 2012) - Opengear (www.opengear.com), a leading provider of next-generation remote networking infrastructure management solutions, today announced the appointment of networking industry veteran Christian Cowan as director of global product management. A senior executive with 20 years of experience, Cowan joins Opengear after serving in previous product management and marketing roles within the physical security, IT networking and energy industries. In his new position with Opengear, Cowan will provide product management leadership, and help to develop new solutions for the company's expanding product line.

Most recently, he was VP of Product Management for Asure Software, a leading vendor of cloud computing time management software services (SaaS) for small- to mid-sized businesses and divisions of large enterprises. During his tenure at Asure Software, he built a team to successfully deliver software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to a wide variety of markets, as well as integrating ADI Time with Asure Software as a result of that acquisition. Prior to Asure Software, he served as Product Manager at A123 Systems, and was also Product Line Director for APC managing the Security/Environmental Monitoring and IT Network Management product lines.
