REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 14, 2012) - MokaFive™, whose products provide secure access to corporate data and resources from any device, today announced it has been granted its sixth US patent on technology related to its acclaimed client-side desktop virtualization software.
The new "Sharing Live Appliances" US patent 8,266,576, covers key areas of publishing, subscribing, updating and playing live appliances or virtual machines. It builds upon the original filings made by the founders of MokaFive, who initially developed the technology as part of a Stanford University project. MokaFive has an additional 18 patents pending on related technologies.
"With the addition of this new patent to our portfolio, MokaFive holds much of the key intellectual property around the client-side or local-execution model of desktop virtualization," said John Whaley, co-founder and CTO, MokaFive. "No other company comes close."
Easier to deploy and significantly less expensive than virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), MokaFive is the only virtualization solution that allows IT to centrally manage, update, and secure an entire distributed desktop environment from a single console. Users enjoy a rich, native experience and offline use.
