Cat's Pride Supports Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Nov 20, 2012) - Oil-Dri Corporation of America (NYSE: ODC), the makers of Cat's Pride and one of the leading manufacturers of cat litters in the world, provided nearly 40,000 pounds of cat litter to shelters in the Northeast. Together with the American Humane Association and other major manufacturers, litter, food and medications were provided for cats and dogs impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Cat's Pride cat litter and other necessary pet supplies were unloaded in three New Jersey locations in dire need of support: Bergen County, Atlantic County and Staten Island. The American Humane Association's Red Star™ Animal Emergency service team unloaded the donated supplies and directed them to some of the estimated 30 million pets in need, while local volunteers from Guardians of Rescue handled distribution.

Due to the influx of pets from evacuated families and families who lost their homes due to Hurricane Sandy, animal shelters were hit particularly hard by the storm. Many facilities lost electricity and were faced with the inability to maintain or replenish their supplies. Because of this harrowing situation, American Humane Association was invited by government officials to provide help. Charged with this task, American Humane Association reached out to its national corporate partners for product donations to assist in the effort.

Through the sale of its products, Cat's Pride has a long history of partnering and supporting the mission of American Humane Association. For more information about Cat's Pride please visit our new website http://www.catspride.com.
