VTech Expands Partnership With Sesame Workshop to Bring Downloadable Sesame Street Videos to Its Award-Winning Tablet Range, InnoTab

New Video Episodes Focus on Science, Letters and Numbers With the Help of the Sesame Street Friends and Celebrities

CHICAGO, Dec. 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VTech Electronics North America, LLC (http://vtechkids.com) is excited to announce that its ongoing partnership with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, was enhanced today with the launch of 16 new downloadable videos for the InnoTab range. Videos are available for download from VTech's download center, the Learning Lodge Navigator for kids to view on their InnoTab 2, InnoTab 2S and InnoTab 2 Baby tablets.

Kids will be able to take adventures with the Sesame Street friends as Elmo, Big Bird and their furry friends explain more about nature, fast and slow, twins, fairies, celebration, arachnids and more!  And who better to teach numbers than The Count? Kids will love his special style of teaching as each video is brought to you by the number and letter of the day.

Major celebrities are on hand to help the Sesame Street friends teach key subjects including Cameron Diaz (habitats), Christina Applegate (counting booths), Debra Messing (nature), and Ziggy Marley (sings about being barefoot).

In a first for VTech, the special partnership with Sesame Workshop has allowed for Spanish-language videos to be available for the InnoTab products.  Four videos from Plaza Sesamo, the Latin American co-production of Sesame Street, have been specially created to help children learn in Spanish as they play hide & seek, count to 10, sing about the planet, identify animal noises, and experience an underwater adventure.

"We are delighted to deliver Sesame Street content to our young fans on a great media platform," says Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Media Distribution, Sesame Workshop.  "Our curriculum is designed to introduce young children to vocabulary and numbers, as well as develop processing skills and reasoning abilities, all with our beloved characters."

Sesame Street videos will be sold for just $7.49 and are available for download through VTech's download center, the Learning Lodge Navigator (vtechkids.com/download).  The 16 new videos add to the existing rich learning content from Sesame Street with 20 e-book titles.  By holiday 2012, the Learning Lodge Navigator library will include hundreds of learning apps including music, e-books, videos, games and more.

"VTech is incredibly excited about our learning partnership with Sesame Workshop, an innovator in producing quality engaging educational content for children for 43 years," said William To, President of VTech Electronics North America. "Our two companies share a long history of developing fresh new ways to educate kids while they are having fun and we are very proud to be offering these learning videos to kids."
