La Crema Opens High-Style Tasting Room

Grand Opening Weekend is December 8 and 9

HEALDSBURG, Calif., Dec. 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- La Crema will open the doors of its expanded tasting room, located just steps off the famed Healdsburg Plaza, on Saturday, December 8. Visitors during grand opening weekend will enjoy samples of artisan wines and appetizers.

Double the size of the original footprint, the interior look and feel was created by acclaimed home goods designer Marc Blackwell, who drew inspiration from the textures and colors of La Crema wines and vineyards. A focal point of the private wine club room is an expansive, 10-foot long table made from a slab of 300-year-old Bobinga wood – it's the perfect spot to enjoy one of the new wine and cheese pairings.

"Whether making wines or enjoying them, we believe a strong sense of place is important," said Elizabeth Grant-Douglas, winemaker, La Crema. "Filled with art, light and rich color, the new space enhances the tasting experience. Plus, the larger area means we can present expanded tasting menus, new cheese selections and accommodate bigger groups."

"When I entertain at home, I want my guests to have a fantastic experience and come away with a strong visual impression," said designer Marc Blackwell. "I see the new tasting room as La Crema's opportunity to do the same – share the stunning textural, visual and natural world of the winery."

Seasonal displays will also highlight the work of local artists. Through Spring 2013, visitors can view vibrant abstract paintings from Mandy Bankson of Santa Rosa.

The La Crema tasting room is located at 235 Healdsburg Avenue, Healdsburg, and is open 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., seven days a week, excluding holidays. Call 800.314.1762 or email info@lacrema.com to schedule a tasting. Guests must be 21 or older to taste wines.
