Fort Lauderdale Slip and Fall Lawyers at Bernstein & Maryanoff File Lawsuit Against Wal-Mart

Specifically, this lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court of the 17^th Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida. The lawsuit alleges that the plaintiff, an individual female, was injured on the premises of the defendant because of the defendant's negligence. The lawsuit seeks an unspecified amount of damages.

According to the court documents, the case arose from an alleged incident whereby the plaintiff was lawfully on the premises of the defendant for the purpose of purchasing goods when she unknowingly encountered some water that had spilled onto the floor. She did not see the water and when she stepped into it, she slipped, fell and was injured. The plaintiff allegedly suffered injuries to her neck and to her back, and she required surgery to help to alleviate the pain and damage done to her lower back.

The documents relating to the lawsuit allege that the defendant was negligent in failing to recognize the presence of the dangerous condition on the floor that was the pool of water. The documents further allege that the defendant did not take proper steps to either remove that dangerous condition or to clearly warn legal entrants onto their property that such a dangerous condition was present. Finally, the court documents allege that because of this negligence, the plaintiff suffered injuries and incurred damages relating to her medical costs, her pain and suffering and other unspecified forms of loss. The case remains active within the Florida court system.
