SAN ANTONIO, TX--(Marketwire - Mar 14, 2013) - Airrosti Rehab Centers has been selected to lead Athlete Services at the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games, where the world's toughest athletes will compete for the title of the Fittest on Earth™. Airrosti, a leading health care group based in San Antonio, employs and trains skilled providers specializing in delivering rapid recovery from musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. As head of Athlete Services, Airrosti will treat competition-related soft tissue injuries, help athletes maintain peak performance and keep competitors as healthy as possible during the grueling competition week.
Named "one of the fastest growing sports in America," by Forbes, close to 100,000 athletes from around the world are expected to take part in the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games, beginning with the Open where the top athletes and teams will advance to the 17 worldwide Regionals. From there, the best of the best will compete in the world championships, the CrossFit Games.
Last year, Airrosti was the lead medical team at the South Central Regional and was part of the onsite medical staff during the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games finals. This year, Airrosti will run Athlete Services for three regional competitions -- South Central, Mid Atlantic, and Central East -- in addition to heading Athlete Services for the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games finals in Carson, Calif. this summer.
"We are very pleased with today's announcement," Airrosti CEO Kelly Green said. "Airrosti has been a proud supporter of the CrossFit community for many years. We were thrilled to provide support to these world-class athletes -- showcasing our ability to quickly and efficiently resolve soft-tissue injuries -- at the 2012 CrossFit Games, and it's an honor to have been asked to come back in an even greater capacity this year because of the unique value we bring to this community and athletes of all types nationally."
CrossFit, Inc. is equally optimistic about the relationship. "CrossFit athletes compete at an exceptionally high intensity, and we take their recovery very serious in our events," said Justin Bergh, General Manager of The CrossFit Games. "Last year Airrosti did a great job helping raise the bar for this type of service. Their professionalism made them our top choice for working with our premier athletes. We are confident Airrosti will do an exceptional job providing high quality athlete services and helping our competitors maintain optimal performance during the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games season."
Now in its seventh year, the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games will be this July at The Home Depot Center in Carson and telecast worldwide on the ESPN network.
