MONKTON, MD--(Marketwired - Apr 3, 2013) - Spring is in the air, and the world's finest guides to wine -- The Wine Advocate and eRobertParker.com -- are budding with exciting announcements that will provide subscribers with even more in-depth tasting notes and wine scores from the most trusted brand in wine. Announcements include the unveiling of the first of three new reviewers, new coverage regions for the entire team, an updated editorial calendar, and a first look at a new app launching early next month.
The newest addition to the renowned team of wine reviewers is Jeb Dunnuck, creator of The Rhone Report and a former software engineer, whose talent has earned him readership in more than 24 countries. Dunnuck grew up in rural Indiana where wine was scarce but after a summer in Europe and touring the great wine regions of France, his passion started to take shape. He became most interested in Rhone varietals and frequented France, Washington state and California. He took a part-time job at a high inventory wine store in his home state of Colorado. Spending years browsing blogs and attending high-end tastings, he became intimately knowledgeable of the wine trade eventually developing his quarterly, web-based newsletter out of pure love for Rhone Valley wines. Dunnuck will cover wines from The Rhone (North and South), Southern France, Washington and California's Central and South Coasts.
"After closely reviewing Jeb's site, I knew I'd found a younger version of myself writing about the Rhone," said founder and lead critic Robert Parker, Jr. "We knew we wanted to snatch him up quickly. We're sure he'll make a fine addition and that readers will identify with his palate."
In addition to Dunnuck, two new reviewers have been retained and will be formally announced the end of April.
Also, new regional assignments have been given to the team providing more of the reports wine lovers rely on. Most thrilling is welcoming Parker back to Northern California covering Napa and Sonoma wines where he was recently inducted into the Vintner's Hall of Fame, a prestigious honor from regions he has been writing about for years.
A full look at the rigorous, new regional coverage assignments are as follows:
- Robert Parker: Northern California, Bordeaux, California Retrospectives, Bordeaux Retrospectives, Value Wines
- Neil Martin: Burgundy's Cote d'Or, Macon, Beaujolais, Sauternes, South Africa, Port, Madeira & Banyuls
