ARLINGTON, Va., April 9, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Planned Systems International, Inc. (PSI), a respected provider of health information technology (IT) solutions to the federal government, announced it has been awarded a contract by the Department of Defense (DoD) to provide validation services for the Enterprise Blood Management System (EBMS). Under this contract, PSI will conduct inspection, testing and validation of the processes that automate and manage blood donation for military donors worldwide. The award is valued at approximately $5.08 million over the life of the contract.
Blood transfusions must be readily available and carefully dispensed to ensure the safety of our servicemen and women, whether on the battlefield or in the surgical suite. Under this contract, PSI and its teammate MediWare, will help the DoD fulfill its mission-critical objective of providing a Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS) validation which is fully compliant with FDA, AABB, and all other donor qualification standards.
