SCHILLER PARK, IL--(Marketwired - Apr 11, 2013) - Life Fitness, the global leader in fitness equipment manufacturing, is offering home exercisers its premium indoor cycling bike used in intense group workout settings. With a cutting-edge design, optional computer console and magnetic brake and lever, the Lifecycle GX is the most accommodating choice for at-home exercisers.
Life Fitness introduced the first computerized stationary bicycle more than 40 years ago, and the Lifecycle GX continues the company's commitment to innovation.
"Indoor cycling is one of the popular fitness activities today," said Dan Wille, vice president of global marketing and product development for Life Fitness. "We're excited to continue the legacy Life Fitness established as the stationary bike pioneer with a best-in-class indoor bike we know home owners will love."
The Lifecycle GX is built for ultimate comfort and customization. The ergonomically-designed bike offers a wide adjustment range, so exercisers can easily position their seat and handlebar in the most comfortable position for any height or body type. The seat and handlebars are also ergonomically designed for expert and novice riders alike, no matter their sprint position. Dual water bottle holders provide easy access to beverages or music players.
The rear flywheel design provides protection from sweat, and the bike's zinc-oxide coated frame and plastic shrouds shield sensitive product components from moisture, so exercisers can train hard with no reservations. Molded urethane platforms on the rear stabilizer allow users to properly stretch their calf muscles, and an extended base offers a large surface area for hamstring stretches.
A unique, incremental brake lever also lets users gauge their resistance and make it repeatable.
The optional computer provides sophisticated feedback to bike users, so they can better monitor their training goals. The feedback data includes speed, distance, resistance level, cadence, calories, time, heart rate and percentage of max heart rate. The computer console mounts between the handlebars in an optimal viewing position for the most technologically-advanced workout.
