LOS ANGELES, April 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Englander Knabe & Allen (EKA) was nominated, and won three prestigious Pollie Awards from the American Association of Political Consultants, the Political consulting field's equivalent of the Emmy Awards. This comes just days after the Los Angeles Business Journal ranked Englander Knabe & Allen the second highest grossing lobbying firm in the County and the largest independent public relations agency headquartered in Los Angeles.
EKA is the only firm on the Business Journal's ranking to also win a 2013 Pollie Award. EKA won a silver Pollie award for direct mail it produced as part of a community outreach campaign managed on behalf of local REALTOR Associations. In late 2012, EKA successfully defeated a documentary transfer tax proposed by the Los Angeles City Council. EKA also won a bronze Pollie award for a video produced for "Save the Westside," a community outreach campaign which sought to scale back an oversized development in Century City.
EKA also won a silver Pollie Award for an independent expenditure campaign it managed on behalf of Santa Monicans United for a Responsible Future. The winning direct mail piece was a parody of the popular "Most Interesting Man in the World" advertisements by Dos Equis beer.
"To win 3 awards voted on by an audience of your peers, and competing against over 2200 entries from around the country is an amazing honor," Harvey Englander, Managing Partner of EKA said. "It just goes to show that to be effective, a firm must employ a diverse range of strategies," said Englander. "Our firm is different because we recognize the absolute need to engage the community and encourage them to partner with our clients to shape public policy. We use direct mail to start that process and clearly, it has a positive effect. I am honored to have our efforts recognized by our fellow political consultants."
Englander Knabe & Allen's client roster includes Motorola, Coca-Cola, LegalZoom, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, AT&T, Westfield, Downey Hospital, and the Los Angeles Police Protective League. EKA provides strategic counsel to clients on a wide range of issues, with particular focus on, and experience in, reputation and crisis management, litigation support, public affairs, government advocacy, media relations, community relations, financial communications and marketing material development.
