Austin, Texas, April 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Circuit of The Americas™, the country's new premier destination for world-class motorsports and entertainment, will host some of the biggest names in race car driving from both the United States and Australia on Tuesday, April 23, as NASCAR 2004 Sprint Cup Champion Kurt Busch meets V8 Supercars drivers James Courtney (2010 series champion) and Fabian Coulthard to test their respective race cars on the highly challenging 3.4-mile circuit.
Courtney and Coulthard will be competing at the purpose-built Grand Prix racing circuit next month as part of the V8 Supercars Austin 400 event, May 17-19, and the Austin circuit is hosting a V8 Supercars Media Preview Day tomorrow to assist U.S. media with advance coverage of the event. The V8 drivers, who took part in festivities surrounding the recent Red Bull MotoGP of the Americas at the Circuit, invited Busch to come to Austin to swap cars and experiences. From the intense driving styles to the fan-friendly environment at the track, there are inherent similarities between the NASCAR and V8 Supercars series. So to bring top representatives from each series together to trade notes makes perfect sense.
