MapR Expands European Operation With New French Office and Leadership Team

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 24, 2013) - MapR Technologies, Inc., the Hadoop technology leader, announced today the appointment of Xavier Guerin to the position vice president southern Europe and Benelux. Guerin, a seasoned executive with over 20 years of industry experience, will lead its new team within France, Benelux and southern Europe. MapR has also opened a new office in Paris to support a growing community of partners and customers across the region.

Prior to joining MapR, Guerin held senior technology executive roles at EMC, Isilon and NetApp. "MapR is a clear market leader within an emerging technology category that changes the dynamics of how organizations deliver big data projects," explained Guerin. "Demand for the technology is growing rapidly across the region and establishing our local office indicates the commitment we have in helping our partners and customers benefit from our high performance, enterprise-grade platform for Hadoop."

MapR has also appointed Aurélien Goujet as senior pre-sales director for southern Europe and Benelux to support customers across the region. Goujet joins MapR following senior technical and sales roles at EMC, Isilon and NetApp.

The new office will help support existing strategic partnerships between MapR and Amazon, Cisco, EMC and Google as well as system integration partners across the territory. The EMEA expansion builds on a number of strategic regional activities that has positioned MapR as the clear leader for enterprise Hadoop with its Big Data platform.

• In January, MapR announced Steve Jenkins as its first VP for EMEA to lead its operation from the new European headquarters based in London, England and Zeljko Dodlek as sales director for Germany and the entire DACH region from a new office in Munich, Germany.
• In March, MapR announced a strategic partnership with Onepoint IQ as its first certified training partner with courses aimed at technical architects and system administrators to teach core skills needed to develop, implement and administer MapR installations.
