LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - May 28, 2013) - Notable science fiction writers David Gerrold, DC (Dorothy) Fontana and producer David C. Fein are attempting to make history by raising funds via Kickstarter to shoot and create their new science fiction adventure TV series "The Star Wolf." The producing team is using the unique crowd funding platform to pioneer their series into a reality and has set to raise $650,000 to finance their "The Star Wolf," and already have raised over $52,000 to date.
The project is garnering attention by notable Star Trek talent including Leonard Nimoy who said, "David Gerrold and Dorothy Fontana gave us some of the best writing we ever had on the original Star Trek series. I, for one, will be eagerly looking forward to see what their creativity will offer us on 'The Star Wolf.'"
Additionally Bill Prady, Executive Producer of The Big Bang Theory said, "When I began my career, everything I knew about how television was written and produced came from David Gerrold's books. I can think of no one more deserving of the chance to pilot a TV series."

The new science fiction adventure series, based-upon Gerrold's best-selling "The Star Wolf" book series -- is about a crew of regular people caught up in an interplanetary war between the human race and the animalistic Morthans.

Kickstarter is primarily used by artists seeking backing for independent film and music productions. The producers are offering pledge prizes from the production ranging from a PDF of the first episode script and an invitation to watch the pilot online for $10 to a cameo in the series. Donation levels also include an opportunity to name a character in the series, a digital copy of the finished pilot, a screening of the work-in-progress version, set visits during filming and more.
