Seeing Stars(R) and Visualizing and Verbalizing(R) Endorsed by CASE

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., May 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) has officially endorsed Nanci Bell's Seeing Stars® and Visualizing and Verbalizing® programs for reading and language comprehension. CASE is an international professional educational organization affiliated with the Council for Exceptional Children, whose members are dedicated to identifying, shaping, and disseminating effective policies and practices in the field of special education.

"Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing exemplify the type of programs that ensure all students, particularly those with special needs, receive high-quality intervention and build 21st Century literacy skills. CASE is proud to endorse these programs," says Luann Purcell, Ed.D., Executive Director of CASE.

Both the Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing programs develop the underlying skills needed for fluent reading and comprehension. Seeing Stars develops symbol imagery, the ability to visualize sounds and letters in words. Visualizing and Verbalizing develops concept imagery, the ability to visualize both oral and written language. In addition to working with students in over 50 Learning Centers worldwide, Lindamood-Bell has partnered with many schools around the country, achieving tremendous success implementing these programs, including turnaround/transformation and Race to the Top initiatives.

"We are proud to have this prestigious endorsement as recognition of the research-validated effectiveness of these programs, which have already made a difference for so many students," says Paul Worthington, Director of Development at Lindamood-Bell.
