The University of Arizona Health Network Chooses Capsule Tech

Device Integration to be Implemented Across Hospital Network

ANDOVER, Mass., June 4, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- With a goal to improve the accuracy and speed of documentation at the point-of-care, The University of Arizona Health Network (UAHN), Tucson, AZ has chosen to implement medical device integration (MDI) solutions from Capsule Tech, Inc. Capsule will be deployed to over 600 beds in multiple care areas across two hospitals. Capsule MDI solutions will connect UAHN's medical devices in the ED and OR, as well as virtually all ICU equipment and most bedside devices, including bedside monitors and send patient data to their Epic EMR

Capsule's device integration solutions enable connectivity between virtually any medical device and virtually any EMR system allowing hospitals to choose their type and scope of project.  Capsule's proprietary DataCaptor™ connectivity software manages the communication between medical devices and their destination clinical information system(s).  Deployed through software on a PC, terminal server, and/or bedside hardware such as the Capsule Neuron™, patient data can be collected continuously in acute-care settings, or periodically in lower acuity, multi-patient environments. Implementations range from single department to multi-facilities, and in some cases, even system-wide deployment at hundreds of hospitals in a single network.

"Beyond the accuracy and timeliness of data, and the efficiencies afforded by our solutions is the key role they play in a hospital's ability to deliver the highest levels of patient care," said Stuart Long, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Capsule Tech.  "Timely access to accurate vital signs data, the first indicators of a patient's condition, is that much more critical to ensuring a patient's safety.  We're proud to support the University of Arizona Health Network, a recognized industry leader, as they continue to achieve the highest levels of performance."
