WASHINGTON, June 25, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) today commended the Senate confirmation of Penny Pritzker as the next Secretary of the United States Department of Commerce. After nearly two months since her nomination to the cabinet post by President Barack Obama, the United States Senate voted overwhelmingly by a vote of 97-1 to confirm Pritzker.
“Throughout her confirmation process, Ms. Pritzker has articulated her vision for a Commerce Department that will prioritize small business growth and job creation for the remainder of President Obama’s second term,” stated USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. “We congratulate Secretary Pritzker and look forward to working with her and her team in the coming weeks to support America’s Hispanic business community.”
The USHCC publicly supported Pritzker’s nomination in May to lead the Commerce Department, citing her extensive record of business and civic leadership.
